Synopsis: In medieval Korea, Prince Chang faces a threat to his claim as heir when the King's pregnant Queen belongs to the Cho clan. A smallpox epidemic grips the kingdom, and the King falls mysteriously ill, sparking suspicions of a hidden death. Prince Chang and scholars attempt a failed coup, forcing his escape.
